About the Author

J. Thomas Hunton was the youngest of four children in a typical 1960s family situated in rural Maine. He developed a passion for hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods and fields surrounding his home. As a child, he experienced a family separation, which led him to find solace in writing poetry and short stories.

During eighth grade, a teacher recognized his potential as a writer and encouraged him to pursue that path. At the time, he did not take the suggestion seriously; however, it lingered in his thoughts as he matured.

At 17, J. Thomas left home to enlist in the Army but chose to leave after three years of service. While stationed in Maine on leave, he met Frances, who would become his wife. After completing college, he joined the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician and married Frances shortly before enlisting.

J. Thomas dedicated seventeen years to the Navy, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. This experience allowed him to travel extensively and live in various foreign countries as well as different states within the U.S. He retired from military service in 1996 and took on multiple jobs while furthering his education.

In 2019, following a prolonged battle with cancer, J. Thomas lost Frances after their forty years together. The loss plunged him into depression. However, he reconnected with Barbara, his high school girlfriend, and they were married in 2022.

In 2024, J. Thomas felt inspired to write once more and embarked on his authorship journey with his first novel titled Displacement. This was soon succeeded by its sequel Displacement: Time Matters. His book Marscape Revisited was published in August 2025, followed by Annunaki, which has just been released.

J. Thomas is committed to continuing his writing endeavors with more novels planned for the future.
